Parkwood Update

Parkwood Update

We are thrilled to announce the Jubilee Parkwood building project is moving into its next phase.

The submitted architectural drawings detailing signage and external finish has been passed by Planning without complications. Work has begun on the boarding up of windows and erection of palisade fence with site security.

The next step is the meeting of various different contractors on site to start the procurement process.

This is always an exciting phase as we see God’s hand in linking us up with the right local contractors, and providing opportunity for others to become involved in the project by way of contacts and sponsorship of different elements.

We thank God for the following already supplied or pledged:

  • Payment for a kitchen installation
  • Payment for a toilet block
  • Material donations
  • Acoustic report analysis for main auditorium
  • Landscape management advice

If you know of anybody in the building trade that can help, or have it on their heart to invest or be a part of a specific element, please contact me (Inus) at inus@jubileehub.org.uk

As always, prayer is crucial that God would guide us to link up with the right businesses and contacts, as well as His protection over those who work with us on site.

MOSAIC – Who are we?

MOSAIC – Who are we?

What is MOSAIC?

Life is like a ‘MOSAIC’. We all come from different life paths, backgrounds and cultures, to create something wonderful and new together.

At MOSAIC we want to build community and offer a safe and welcoming place for older people to gather. We recognise that age does make a difference. People 30 years old are different from people 60 years old. Older adults think differently from younger adults.

Older adults are the fastest-growing age demographic in our society and in many churches. They are a “hidden treasure” of the church. We can’t ignore this important resource for church vitality and growth or the special gifts that older adults offer to Christ, the church and the community. Their life experience is invaluable to church life as a whole!

To meet over coffee and cake in a welcoming and friendly environment, and to engage in uplifting activities is a great opportunity to break into peoples’ often isolated lives and reach them with the love of Jesus.

We need one another (people need people), and this need, being met by the activities of MOSAIC, will express itself in healthy, nurturing and caring relationships. It provides an ideal opportunity to reach to unsaved, wider, older community. Our activities include talks, guest speakers, games, arts and crafts or outings, just to name but a few, while doing life together.

MOSAIC aims to form strong friendships and encourage each other to push deeper into a relationship with God. It’s never too late for God to transform our lives and the lives of others.

“It’s never too late for God to transform our lives and the lives of others.”

At MOSAIC, we want to facilitate a sensitive and open communication of the Gospel. We are trusting that MOSAIC will be a tool that God will use to serve the older and more mature generation both in and outside of Jubilee, and trust that they will experience the love of God and have a life-changing encounter with JESUS! We want to see the lost, older generation come to know Jesus as Lord and Saviour!

We meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month, 2 – 4pm, venue to be confirmed. For more information please come and talk to us!

Jubilee Leadership School Launch

Jubilee Leadership School Launch

On 25th September, Jubilee Leadership School launched its year-long curriculum with the first of two evenings open for the whole congregation.

The course is designed to take people on a journey of discipleship through teaching and discussion groups with fellow participants, aiming to equip on principles of leadership that are applicable in everyday life and individual’s specific places of influence.

The first term will focus on some of the foundations of the Kingdom and leadership within its context. We started with going right back to the start of how and why we were created – in God’s image, for relationship with Him first and foremost. The first week comprised of two sessions. In the first session, Dan Maudhub looked at the very beginning of God creating man in His image and speaking out His blessing over him. The Kingdom of God is based on relationship, which is demonstrated within the Godhead itself first. This relationship is what Jesus came to restore and is the very essence of His Kingdom.

“This relationship is what Jesus came to restore and is the very essence of His Kingdom.”

From there we moved on to looking at our identity as citizens of Heaven. Neil Pattison unpacked what it means to belong to the Kingdom, identifying with its customs, characteristics and Christ-likeness. Being a citizen of the Kingdom means we submit every part of our lives to the King. As we do, we enter a relationship as sons and daughters with a loving Father who disciplines and guides and we are transformed day by day into the image of Christ. Feedback we’ve had from the first evening is exactly what we hope this course will mean for those who join us. People have found it refreshing to go “back to the basics” of God’s Kingdom, looking at what the Bible actually shows us in its essence. As well as that, the format of looking at one subject (or at first two) per evening means there is more time to focus on it and discuss in greater depth in small groups.

The first night was a success and we look forward to the process God is taking us on as we step out to equip and disciple people in their journey of leadership. The actual Leadership Course will start on 9th October, so it’s not to late to sign up and embark on a new adventure.
